NEW RULES FORTIFY THE PROTETION OF COPYRIGHTS IN THE DIGITAL WORLD
New rules established by the Ministry of Culture will allow the Brazilian musicians a better control on their copyrights in the digital world. The news are present on the normative ruling signed by the Culture Minister.
The first normative ruling aims at ensuring a correct legal compliance to inform the musical repertoire used in audiovisual productions.
From now on, the technical files of audiovisual works should show clearly defined all the musical works and their respective owners. The Brazils Nation Film Agency (ANCINE) will complement this instruction with an own ruling, providing on the additional requirements for the Brazilian Product Certificate (CPB) issue.
The second normative ruling clarifies the applicable concepts of the Brazilian legislation to internet, allowing that management societies of copyrights performing in this environment. This recognition will allow the Brazilian creators to demand information and eventual resources directly of foreign platforms that provides music by streaming (a way of instant transmission of audio data and videos by internet).
